Family Beach Walk

Take a guided beach walk tour with Texas Master Naturalist Julie Findley and learn fun beachcombing facts. Guided Wetland Walks

Join the Wetlands Education Center at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute every Tuesday and Thursday for guided wetland walks. This FREE guided walk takes you along wetland trails where you'll learn about the coastal wetland habitats and their inhabitants, including plant and animal life. Birding on the Boardwalk

Birders Meet Up! Join our experts at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center every Wednesday to experience birding from the new boardwalk. This walk will be short along our boardwalk but offers great vistas for watching all our wonderful birds. Guides Ray Dillahunty and Leslie Hoesktra will lead the group in discovering all the Center has to offer. All experience levels are welcome, and binoculars are available for loan. The program is free. Meet at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center at 9:00 am.

Flynn’s Beach Squad

Join Flynn's Beach Squad for an evening of clean-up on Port Aransas! Flynn's Beach Squad is a weekly clean-up opportunity where volunteers can show their love for Port A and help keep the trash out of Port Aransas. Flynn's Beach Squad meets every Monday at 4:00 p.m. from June through August. From 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. is check-in and location assignment. 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. is the clean-up, and from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. is wrapping up and returning to the meeting spot at Horace Caldwell Pier. Reusable yellow trash bags and trash grabbers are provided.

Beachtober

Fall is a magical time in Port Aransas - the perfect weather, few crowds, and wide open beaches. Beachtober is a month-long celebration of the arrival of autumn and the beauty of Port Aransas. From events like the "Sweet Traditions" Dessert Trail to the Wooden Boat Festival, experiencing Beachtober, whether you're a local or a visitor, is an experience you won't forget.

A Few Beachtober Events to Mark on Your Calendars

Sweet Traditions Dessert Trail: All Month Long

For sweet treat lovers, this one's for you! Seven Port Aransas restaurants will be offering deals on desserts all month long, so make it a point to hit the dessert trail and visit each at least once this month. Participating restaurants include Castaways, Kody's, Lone Star Taste, Seafood & Spaghetti Works, Stingray's, Stout's, and Trout Street Bar & Grill.  

Taco and Margarita Trail: All Month Long

Another Beachtober event made with foodies in mind is the Taco and Margarita Trail. Several Port A restaurants will offer everyone's favorite combo - tacos and margaritas. Visit one or visit all!  

Beachtober Beats: Every Friday

Start the weekend off on the right foot and attend Beachtober Beats at the Sip Yard Port Aransas. Tickets for Beachtober Beats can be purchased online in advance. Day-of tickets are also available.  

Flynn's Beach Run: October 25, 2025

Flynn's Beach Run is a run made for everyone. This race gives runners the options of a 5K, 10K, and a family-friendly fun run. You can also participate in the virtual run if you aren't able to be here in Port Aransas. The race will start at Horace Caldwell Pier at 8 a.m. The 5K and 10K races are divided by gender and age groups, and awards will be given. Registration fees range depending on the race.

Sand Pumpkin Patch

Join Port Aransas Parks & Recreation for some carving fun on the beach! This isn't your ordinary pumpkin carving experience; instead of carving pumpkins, you'll be carving the sand and creating your own sandy masterpiece. Parks & Recreation volunteers will assist event-goers. The event is free to attend, but registration is recommended. *While it's not mandatory, Parks & Rec encourages each attendee to donate one non-perishable food item as a gesture of support for those in need. Your generosity will greatly contribute to our community effort.
