Getting to Port Aransas & Sandpiper Condominiums

Do you need help finding Port Aransas or determining what the best routes are once you get here? Here is everything you need to know to help you get around the area; from driving distances, to top sights and attractions, to general location and airport information:

  • Getting Here

Corpus Christi International Airport is located about 45 minutes away from Port Aransas. You can choose to rent a car and drive yourself to Port A or take advantage of the free Port Aransas ferry system. The vehicle ferry makes trips round-the-clock and there are no reservations necessary. While the ferry ride across the channel will get you to Mustang Island in less than 10 minutes, out of town visitors should keep in mind that the line for vehicles to board can be quite long during the peak summer months.

  • Getting Around

If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to get around the island, golf carts are your best bet. With multiple rental companies in the area, they can be easily accessed and driven on regular city streets.  Whether you’re getting around in a car or golf cart, both vehicles are also permitted on the beach. Look out for the designated areas in which you are able to drive and park your vehicle. It’s also important to make sure you’ve purchased a parking pass from any convenience store nearby.  If you prefer a slower speed, you’re in luck. Port Aransas is known for being a great, walkable beach town.

  • Driving Distances

It’s not a trip to Port Aransas if you don’t visit the beach. Fortunately, no matter where you are on the island, you’re never far from the sandy beaches of the Gulf Coast. For instance, Padre Island National Seashore is just 42 miles from Corpus Christi International Airport and the park entrance is only about 10 miles from the Kennedy Causeway Bridge. Make sure to check in with the visitor centre for up-to-date information on driving conditions as the beach conditions often change.
