November in Port Aransas 2016

Sandpiper-Front-Aerial

Sunrise at Sandpiper

November in Port Aransas is quiet and relaxing. There are still plenty of visitors and the weather is absolutely perfect for visiting. It’s not too hot and still sunny as can be. The cold fronts will be blowing through soon though, cooling off the coast and the water temperatures; which is great for floundering! Unfortunately, there is no floundering allowed during the month of November due to the winter spawning. But come December, game on!

Duck seasCaptain Joey Farahon is in full swing and if you need a guide we have an excellent recommendation, Captain Joey Farah is based out of Padre Island and you can contact him at (361) 442-8145. Not only does he guide for duck season, he is the best fisherman on our Coastal Bend! Joey is a well known fishing guide in our area and one of the most respected. Give him a call for your fishing trips or duck hunts and let him know we sent you.

There are a few things going on during this month to attend! If you’re a winter Texan you will enjoy most of these activities and events around town. If you’re just visiting for a few days, these events will be entertaining as well.

Every Tuesday and Thursday are the Wetlands Education Center Tours which are free and open to the public. Meet at 630 E. Cotter Ave at 10am. If you would like more information you can contact (361) 749-6711.

Every Wednesday is a free and guided birding tour at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center at 9 am.

Saturday the 12th will be yoga on the beach at the end of Beach St. Look for the purple flag at 8 am!

Saturday the 19th is the “Port A Shop Around”
“Join us on Saturday, November 19th (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and Sunday, November 20th (noon to 6:00 p.m.) for a unique shopping experience in Port ‘A’. Great offers and a grand prize drawing to one lucky winner will be held.
